There is always lots going on in and around Blairgowrie

There are lots of regular events in and around Blairgowrie.

There's a farmers market at the Wellmeadow on the last Friday of every month, and other regular craft and farmers markets in nearby towns like Perth, Dunkeld and Pitlochry.

Visitors can join  in at events at local golf, walking & dance clubs & societies. And Blairgowrie football and rugby clubs, and Meigle Cricket Club always welcome new supporters.

Blairgowrie Town Hall hosts a busy programme throughout the year with everything from stand-up to country dance, opera to Elvis. And there's lots more entertainment near at hand at Perth Theatre & Concert Hall, Birnam Arts and Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

As well as all of the regular weekly and monthly events held in and around Blairgowrie, there are annual events that you must not miss if you're visiting the area on holiday.

The Perth Festival of The Arts takes place each May featuring classical music, opera, rock, jazz, Celtic, comedy, theatre, dance and the visual arts.  

Also in May, the Etape Caledonia is an 85-mile closed road event for up to 5,000 cyclists. Spectacular for competitors and spectators alike.

In June, the Perth Gold Cup is one of 9 National Hunt annual meetings at at the UK's most northerly racecourse.

Scone Palace hosts the Scottish Game Fair, celebrating conservation & the countryside, in July.

In August, the world's best golfers will compete for the 2024 Women's British Open at St Andrews and the Blair Castle International Horse Trials will welcome some of the world's top eventers.

Blairgowrie & Rattray Highland Games is held on the first Sunday of September (just after the Braemar Gathering) each year. There are other local games in Blair Atholl (May), Strathmore/Glamis (June), Kenmore (July), Aberfeldy, Perth, Crieff & Birnam (August) and Pitlochry (September). 

In 2023, Blairgowrie's October book festival, Bookmark, featured authors including Don Paterson, Liam McIlvanney, Sally Magnusson and Ambrose Parry. There are other local book festivals in Dunkeld (November) and Pitlochry (February).

During October and November, The Enchanted Forest, in Faskally Wood, by Pitlochry, will again be Scotland's most popular sound and light show.

And then, in December, it's panto season and, as well as the Blairgowrie Players performing in the Town Hall, you'll have a choice of productions at Perth Theatre, Birnam Arts, Dundee Rep and Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Oh yes you will!
